Kang Ha Neul and Park Jung Ja made official promises for the play, Harold and Maude.
Kang Ha Neul and Park Jung Ja attended the press conference for the play, Harold and Maude on January 15 at the small hall ‘Dal’ at the National Theatre of Korea, and each actor made an official promise for the play for when it gathers a total of 10,000 audience members.
Kang Ha Neul said, “I made an official promise for the drama Misaeng for when it reached 3 percent in rating. I made the promise to sing, thinking that it would be hard to reach it, but the drama went over the number after the first two or three episodes.
He added, “I don’t think I was meticulous in keeping the promise because I carried out the task all of a sudden without preparation. So I’m hesitant to hastily make a promise this time, but if 10,000 people watch the play I will choose a day to buy coffee and food for everyone after the play is over.”
“I would like to provide the opportunity for those who have never watched a play,” said Park Jung Ah. “I have once provided the opportunity for children, heads of their households, to watch a play. I think it would be good if I did the same with Harold and Maude.”
First put on Broadcast in 1980, Harold and Maude is about the love and friendship of a 19-year old boy named Harold (Kang Ha Neul) who is intrigued with death and dreams of committing a suicide, and a cheerful and ingenuous 79-year old woman named Maude.
